Are old newspapers haunting you and your family? Stop the ever-growing pile of newspapers in your home and recycle. It is the only answer and it is what Taiwanese designer Colin Lin did. Colin Lin was tired of being confronted with piles and piles of old newspapers that she decided to turn them into fashionable shoes.
Since more and more people are going green, Colin was confident that her shoes would be a hit. Armed with newspaper strips, fish skin and raffia (both as leather substitute), Colin was able to sell about 4,000 pairs of shoes in Taiwan and Europe alone. The Colin Lin Recycled Newspaper Shoes have a cotton lining back and plastic coating for waterproof finish. All pairs have a glued rubber sole with a plastic cap toe.
